ReplayBox

An app for capturing gameplay moments, editing MP4 files and sharing videos by link.

ReplayBox saves the last few minutes of gameplay from a local replay buffer: press a hotkey after an event to keep the recording. The built-in editor lets you trim and combine clips and add notes and markers. Save the finished video to your computer or upload it to your personal ReplayBox library to share it by link. The app also supports screenshots.

Local recording and publishing

You do not need a Google Account to record or edit locally. A ReplayBox account is required to publish content in its cloud library. The app description, this page and the privacy policies are available to everyone without registration.

Optional YouTube connection

Participants in the private pilot can upload a selected video from their ReplayBox library to their own YouTube channel. The user connects a Google Account through Google's official consent screen, then separately approves the specific video on the ReplayBox website. Connecting a channel does not automatically start uploads.

  • youtube.upload allows ReplayBox to send the video you select and approve to your channel.
  • youtube.readonly is used to identify and verify the channel. ReplayBox shows its identifier and name before uploading.

ReplayBox displays upload progress and the resulting YouTube link. The app does not receive your Google password. Tokens stay on the ReplayBox server and are not sent to the desktop application. Each video requires separate approval on the website with your current ReplayBox password.

Data and permission controls

Google receives the video file you select and your chosen publication settings. ReplayBox stores an encrypted token, channel information and upload history. History is automatically deleted after 30 days. When you disconnect the channel, access is revoked and the associated data is deleted within 7 days. Uploaded videos remain on YouTube under your control.

Purpose of the application

ReplayBox records and edits gameplay content provided by users. The service does not generate images or videos using AI or use Google APIs to create such content. Google data is not sold or used for advertising or model training. By uploading content, you accept YouTube's rules and confirm that you have the necessary rights.
